This concept is the result of my Master Thesis performed for Zodiac Aerospace. The concept is called MYSEAT and has been patented.

The project started with the boarding problem. Boarding procedures are not efficient and therefore cost money. A more efficient process could mean extra flights. Apart from that many passengers find the boarding procedure stressful.

 

By observing boarding procedures, performing a stress study and creating a future vision a new concept was created. 

​

MYSEAT is a boarding system where the passenger connects with the airport and his aircraft seat to give the passenger a less stressful, more personal boarding experience and reduce overall boarding time. The passenger is guided intuitively until seated.

​

The innovation behind myseat is the connection of the passenger to the airport and his aircraft seat with bluetooth beacons, the guidance system and a small extra luggage compartment underneath the seat pan.

​

The inflight guidance system works as follows: the passenger approaches the seat and the spotlight above the seat will light it up brighter and brighter when getting close. The passenger puts away the luggage, closes the seat and sits down. A welcome message will appear on the screen. 

​

The lighting system was tested in a fuselage and resulted in a 2 seconds reduction per passenger.
